If you're an antique enthusiast with a fondness for Vermont country antiques and artifacts J. Langdon on Langdon Street might be worth the visit.  Also on Langdon Street, Buch Spieler Records and The Getup Vintage retail vintage record albums and clothing.

 

Bear Pond Books and Guitar Sam are two local favorites that have been at their present location on Main Street for decades.

 

Capitol Stationers, 67 years strong,  has also been a mainstay of Main Street, Montpelier for many years.

 

For toys, books and games for kids of all ages visit Woodbury Mountain ToysJust across the street on State Street there is Alla Vita, a retailer of Olive Oils, Specialty Oils, Balsamic Vinegars and Unique Wines that inspire the culinary imagination.

 

For arts and crafts there are two downtown locations that may have what you're looking for. The Drawing Board is a two dimensional artist's delight.

 

For sportswear, skis, bikes, etc., Slope Style Vermont retails a considerable variety of clothing, sports equipment and accessories.  Onion River Outdoors, however, is just down Langdon Street, with a bike and ski selection that rivals ski resorts in style and selection.

 

There are many other specialty shops, as well. The Artisan's Hand Gallery presents a mesmerizing collection of Vermont artisan crafts from throughout the State of Vermont.

 

Looking for a midday cafe to relax and enjoy gourmet coffees chocolates while perusing local art, crafts and collectibles? Rabble Rouser presents an enjoyable respite and comfortable seating.

 

AND-  don't miss Splash Naturals, recently re-opened after the height of the pandemic, for women's fashions, accouterments and accessories.

 

With most of Montpelier's shops within a few blocks, while visiting the many stores in downtown Montpelier you won't have to walk far to shop  its myriad.
